Special Programs

The SweatShop offers short courses focused on learning goals and/or skills.  Our special programs follow a curriculum, and have beginning and end dates.

Topics range from healthy eating, weight loss, reducing heart disease risks, to meditation and stress reduction. All require advance registration. Open to all, members’ rates are available and Perkville points may be used.

Meditation for Modern Life

Once a week for six weeks, our 90 minute sessions instruct and improve basic meditation skills through guided meditation, discussions and homework assignments.

Inspired by author Jon Kabbat-Zinn’s “mindfulness-based stress reduction” course, this inspirational series shows you an approach to gain  the benefits of stress reduction and suit your weekly schedule.
