This is functional fitness course targeting core strength and kinesthetic awareness leading to improvements in full body strength and power. This multi-layered system allows you to design workouts for both novice and high-level athletes.
Take your workouts to the next level with our CORE™ Athletic Conditioning and Performance Training™ (developed by Merrithew Health & Fitness™ experts).
Core programming allows you to help your clients improve precision, control, strength, power, and agility. It jumpstarts their metabolism, optimizes athletic performance, and allows smarter training with our combination of body control and power movements that transform regular training regimens into high-intensity workouts. Our system will help retrain unbalanced muscles, initiate the core, and build strength from within that will transfer on and off the playing field.
Whether you are looking to take a specific CORE course, participate in a continuing education workshop, or complete the full training and certification process, we have what you need!
August 6, 2017 (Sunday, 9am-5pm) (June 22, 2017 Early Registration)
The CORE Instructor Foundation course will provide an introduction to group fitness and personal training theory and their application to program development. This program effectively brings together the worlds of core conditioning and athletic training with established body awareness principles. Effective program design relies on consideration of a broad range of concepts for training, and a complete understanding of the application of these theories. In order to bring a more thoughtful approach to the work, a series of stabilization principles will be examined and correlated with standard teachings. A number of props will be used throughout the course to demonstrate and explore the foundational principles as well as be incorporated in a Circuit Training program.
Course Objectives Upon completion of the CORE Instructor Foundations courses: You will have learned everything you need to explain the theory behind the CORE principles, effectively apply CORE principles to a workout for any level participant, teach a pre-programmed CORE Circuit class in a group format, practice correct execution of exercises found in traditional fitness training.
